Use a printed code for an initial packaged-food lookup. This tool has text input only, not camera scanning, and community data does not replace the package label.
How it works
The backend removes nondigits and sends only an 8-to-14-digit result to Open Food Facts. Results are cached in backend memory by barcode for 86,400 seconds. The UI shows name, brand, quantity, Nutri-Score, allergens, and four per-100 g nutrition values.

Enter the 8-to-14-digit EAN or UPC printed on a package and check whether Open Food Facts has a matching food record.
Limits and data handling
Open Food Facts is community data and can be stale, incomplete, or different from the current package, so it cannot guarantee allergen or nutrition accuracy. The browser request times out after 20 seconds, and one client is limited to 25 Open Food Facts queries per 60 seconds. Missing products, rate limits, or provider failures return no result or an error.
The barcode is sent to the GoGo Tools backend and Open Food Facts and can remain in a barcode-keyed in-memory cache for up to 86,400 seconds. GoGo Tools does not build personal lookup history. Analytics may record the tool identifier, category, and locale, but not the barcode or result.
Packaged-food barcode lookup guide
Enter a package barcode
Paste the printed food barcode into the text field and run the lookup. There is no camera scanner. The backend removes spaces, hyphens, and other nondigit characters; the remaining value must contain 8 to 14 digits. Correct blank or wrong-length input against the package.
This tool does not decode country prefixes, does not validate check digits, and cannot prove authenticity or manufacturing origin. A match only means that the database has a corresponding food record.
Read the result alongside the package
The GoGo Tools backend queries Open Food Facts. The screen can show product name, brand, quantity, Nutri-Score, labeled allergens, and per-100 g energy, protein, carbohydrate, and fat values.
Some fields may be missing. Check that the product name and quantity match the food in hand, then compare nutrition and allergen details with its current label. Missing allergen data does not mean allergen-free.
Handle missing records and errors
No result may mean an incomplete code or a food that has not been added. Nonfood items may have no record. A missing record does not prove that an item is nonexistent or counterfeit.
If a timeout, rate limit, or service error appears, wait and retry. Open Food Facts is community data and may be stale or incomplete; it cannot guarantee nutrition or allergen accuracy.
Understand transmission and freshness
The barcode is sent to the GoGo Tools backend and Open Food Facts. Results are cached by barcode in backend memory for 86,400 seconds (24 hours), so updates are not guaranteed in real time. Check the source and fetched time, and use the current package label as your reference.
GoGo Tools does not build a personal lookup history. Enter only a product barcode, not personal information.
