How to use the date calculator

Count days between two dates

  1. Open the Count days tab.
  2. Choose the start date, or use Today.
  3. Choose the end date, or use Today.
  4. Select Calculate duration to see the day count.

You can include the end date in the result by adding one day.

Add days to a date

  1. Open the Add days tab.
  2. Choose a start date.
  3. Enter years, months, weeks, and days.
  4. Select Calculate new date.

When it helps

Duration mode can include the end date and exclude selected weekdays. Add and subtract modes apply years and months first, then weeks and days.

How it works

The day difference is the UTC-midnight millisecond difference divided by 86,400,000. Including the end date adds or subtracts one day by direction, and weekday exclusions apply only in duration mode. Weeks are days ÷ 7 and displayed months are days ÷ 30.4375. Date offsets use JavaScript UTC rollover, so a month-end date can roll into the following month.

Worked example

Example: count days from 2026-01-01 to 2026-01-31, or add one month to 2026-01-31 and review the JavaScript rollover date.

Limits and data handling

The displayed month difference is only days ÷ 30.4375, not a count of complete calendar months. The tool does not handle times, time zones, daylight-saving changes, or public holidays. Month-end offsets follow JavaScript date rollover and can land in the next month.

Dates, excluded weekdays, and results are processed only in the current browser. They are not sent to the GoGo Tools backend or stored by the site, and analytics events do not contain entered dates or results.
